“ Red Ted” a. k. a. Teddy Redson, Teddy Bonez, Reddy Tedder, The Ranger, The Pickup, and finally Red Rocket Teddy. Has been sold. The buyer, my father in law got a super nice deal on this 2001 RWD Ranger Edge 3.0 V6 5 speed manual. I bought it with 61000 on the clock and it was just under 75000 when I dropped it off yesterday. I owned it just over 2 years and I took it from a dusty old basic truck, to a super nice modernized old basic truck.
I added:
Power locks, keyless entry, remote start, dash cam, power side mirrors, a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! lights . I carefully loomed an managed all of the wires into factory locations, and loomed new runs.
When I bought it, I did !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , wires, coil pack, air filter, oil change, fuel filter
Brand new wheels wrapped in KO2s, brand new Bilstein shocks all the way around.
The stock shocks were really bad
I dynamatted the entire cab except for the roof, cut out space for 6x9 speakers up front, put 3 way’s in the front and rear with an Alpine head unit and in line amp. It sounds great.
I took the grill apart and plasti dipped it, and it came out great!
I dealt with the timing cover coolant issue
I rebuilt the shifter, and put a new knob on.
I just added new bed rails, and a toolbox
Finally my proudest moment/ favorite part of the truck is the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
I will miss him, but I needed to get rid of something and he was on the block. He’s also not gone far so I can visit. So we’re back to 4 in a single lane driveway. At least we don’t have to park on the street.

Happy Monday. I’m kicking mine off with a trip to the Apple store for new airpods because mine were stolen right out of the case :(

Nice truck! Sad to see it go, but at least its in the family.
Bummer about your airpods, I hate thiefs, what’s their problem anyway?

Yea it was great while I had it, I used it more than most full size pickup drivers ever use theirs (for actual pickup duty anyway). However, I needed something safe for my munchkin and had to lose one.
Yeah, and to make matters worse there is a good chance that it was family or a friend of the family (kids/teenagers).

It’s RWD but everything else is correct haha. I even had plans to have the bench re upholstered! I have unfinished wood armrests to match the console that I will finish and install for him.
The RWD actually wasn’t an issue during winter #2 I put big K02s on there which are slightly snow rated I think. Then I built an wooden “I” for the bed so I could throw three bags of sand on each side and have them stay over the rear axle . It drove like a charm through two really bad storms. Still a 4x4 would be more desirable

Yea and the new suspension. One of the links shows my old shocks and they were DEAD.

The Ranger Edge gave the 2WD models 4WD ground clearance.
